Hi my name's Emma Finney and I'd like to share with you my keen passion for wilderness landscapes, the mountains, indigenous healing practices & the therapeutic benefits they bring.
Persoots was created to capture my experience(s) as I embark on a global journey to discover the self. A journey to discover gold within the shadows, or as some would say a journey to discover true potential...
"The uncovering of my shadow opened both my eyes & my world. It was like stumbling across a secret, magical world, a world without limitation where the possibilities for realisation remain infinite. A world where fantasy, excitement & exploration still exist".
...it's hard for me to believe now but this journey only really got kick started in 2005 when I faced my reality; the reality of being clinically obese. At 5'6 I weighed in at just shy of 16 1/2 stone.
After a period of struggle, breakdown and subsequent personal work I made the decision to start living. I no longer wanted to hide behind my weight or runaway from life's uncertainty. To this day I stand firm in my belief that only the individual themselves knows the extent of their own suffering. Only they can fully appreciate the true weight of their liberation & for me that liberation came in the form of a physical and psychological release.
With a deep passion for adventure and a desire to learn & explore I set off bound for the remote & often inaccessible regions of Nepal, Patagonia, Kyrgyzstan (The Celestial Tien Shan), Outer Mongolia, Tibet, Burma, China & Indonesia. To this day it is these places along with their indigenous healing practices that continue to be my inspiration.
Persoots was founded to share this unique & very personal journey. With first hand experience of Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Transpersonal, Psychosynthesis, EMDR, Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Reflexology, Therapeutic Massage, Ki-energy, Reiki, Acupuncture, Qigong & Trance; I invite you the reader on a journey to discover the true nature of the human spirit and the gold which can be found hidden within each and every one of us; even the most unlikely.

Founded by Chhewang N Lama, Responsible Treks is a small Kathmandu based Travel Company, specialising in tours in & around the Hidden Himalayas.
Chhewang & myself share an abiding passion for the remote regions of the Himalayas; as his colleague & friend it is an absolute privilege to be involved in this unique & captivating venture.
